Türkiye and Saudi Arabia have pledged to enhance their collaboration in the justice sector following discussions held in Ankara between Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gürlek and his Saudi counterpart, Walid bin Muhammad Al Samaani. The talks centered around expanding cooperation on judicial reforms, sharing legal expertise, and advancing digital justice initiatives.
Both ministers underscored the significance of building stronger legal frameworks and improving cooperation efforts to align with Türkiye’s “Century of Türkiye Vision” and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. These ambitious national strategies aim to modernize various sectors in both countries, with justice systems being a key area of focus.
In a bid to foster mutual growth, Türkiye proposed sharing insights from its National Judiciary Informatics System (UYAP), which includes advancements in artificial intelligence-supported legal services, cybersecurity measures, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. The Turkish system is noted for its digitalization efforts, which could serve as a model for Saudi Arabia’s evolving justice infrastructure.
The ministers concurred that increasing exchanges and direct cooperation between their legal professionals would significantly strengthen bilateral relations. Such initiatives are expected to enhance access to efficient and modern justice systems in both nations, reflecting a shared commitment to legal innovation and reform.
