Türkiye has issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s recent military actions in southern Syria, denouncing the strikes as a breach of Syria’s sovereignty and a threat to the stability of the region. The Turkish Foreign Ministry specifically highlighted the targeting of areas in Quneitra and Daraa, asserting that these actions are a clear violation of Syria’s territorial integrity, international law, and the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.
In its statement, Türkiye warned that such attacks not only exacerbate the already dire humanitarian situation in Syria but also pose significant risks to civilian populations. Moreover, Turkish officials expressed concern that these military actions could undermine ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability within the country. The call was made for the international community to step in and take measures to prevent further escalation that could heighten tensions in the region.
Burhanettin Duran, Türkiye’s Communications Director, joined the chorus of criticism against the Israeli strikes. He emphasized that these actions threaten Syria’s security and could derail efforts aimed at achieving long-term peace in the region.
Türkiye has reiterated its commitment to supporting the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Syria, viewing these elements as essential for maintaining regional security. Turkish officials are urging other nations to join in efforts to uphold these principles and to discourage actions that could destabilize the fragile peace process.
